Butterfly Garden

École Macaulay Elementary School with HAT will be creating a spectacular and unique garden for butterflies with a variety of native plant species including beautiful flowering Camaslily. Our aim for this garden is to create a wildflower habitat garden for students, teachers, and neighbours to learn about stewardship of our local flora and fauna while providing food and shelter for our pollinators.

With the help of all students and parent volunteers, our goal is to plant 300+ wildflowers that will return every year. We welcome your involvement as a parent leader to assist with planting these flowers in the garden, and preparing the site. If you are interested in volunteering please email macaulaypac@gmail.com.

Thank you to the classes who helped on Monday spreading mulch and preparing the soil for planting.

Outdoor Classroom

Have you seen the trucks on the field at Macaulay and wondered what’s happening? Here’s a hint, they are not digging for buried treasure.

After 6 long years in the making, construction has begun on the outdoor classroom. This will give the teachers and students of Macaulay a designated place to sit and gather for outdoor lessons. The Greening Committee headed by Erin Kinrade has been working on this project for years, and it is so nice to finally see physical progress.

When the project is complete the plan is to have it resemble the drawing attached
